The Dallas Fed released a report stating that the city’s long-term economic outlook remains strong despite expected declines through 2009. The Spring 2009 Vista South Texas Trends and Issues posted on the Dallas Fed’s website identifies San Antonio as one of the least weak MSA’s in the nation. The report attributes stability to the city’s high concentration of non-cyclical industries such as healthcare, tourism and government but points to education as the key to San Antonio’s future. Citing the findings of this report, Richard W. Fisher, President & CEO of the Dallas Fed, addressed the Texas Banders Association’s 125th annual convention in San Antonio.
