The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has acquired Med Centre Plaza, a nearly 102,000-square-foot office building at 8431 Fredericksburg. The $12.3-million transaction will provide much needed space for UT Medicine, the academic medical practice for the Health Science Center’s School of Medicine.
Health Science Center President Dr. William Henrich said the UT System Board of Regents approved in August $15 million for the acquisition and renovation of the Northwest Side building, which is ideally situated at the gateway to the South Texas Medical Center. Nearly $3 million will be invested to improve the property, which was built in 1986.
