Local developer Paul Blackburn of Blackburn Properties of Texas has bought 200 acres of vacant land next to a Walmart Supercenter along Loop 1604 on the far West Side.
The land is at the southwest corner of Loop 1604 and Potranco Road, an area that has seen a lot of residential growth over the last 20 years.
The LLCs used to buy the land all have Blackburn listed as their manager and share an address with Blackburn Properties.
It’s unclear what Blackburn paid for the properties, but he has entered deeds of trust with Rio Mortgage Company mortgaging them for a total of $15.5 million.
The properties, most of which are zoned commercial, were assessed at a total of $19.2 million this year, according to the Bexar Appraisal District. About half the land is within the city of San Antonio while the rest is outside.
