New University Health Tower
San Antonio’s University Health System is proceeding with plans to build a 12-story tower at its main campus, located in the South Texas Medical Center.
Upon the late 2022 completion of the $500-million expansion, the new tower will hold the healthcare system’s inpatient women’s and children’s medical services and will offer two emergency departments for OB/GYN patients and children.
In addition, the new hospital will have 268 private patient rooms, larger labor and delivery suites and a child-friendly space with a movie lounge game room and indoor play areas.
