Japanese company to bring 900 jobs to Cibolo

AW Texas, Inc., a Japanese transmission maker owned by Fortune Global 500 company Aisin, plans to build a $400-million plant in Cibolo that will span approximately 500,000 square feet and bring 900 jobs to the Northeast San Antonio suburb.

Groundwork is expected to start September along the IH-10 frontage road at S Santa Clara Road across from the San Antonio Raceway.

Aisin chose Texas for its new plant after a two-year search. Cibolo competed with cities statewide for the Aisin plant.

The Cibolo facility will be the second U.S. advanced auto industrial plant location for Aisin; its first is located in Durham, N.C.
