Bill Miller Bar-B-Q Gets OK for HQ Land Deal

Bill Miller Bar-B-Q is working to acquire 57 acres on the City’s West Side for $3.1 million with plans to move its headquarters and operations to the property.  The property is adjacent to distribution centers for Inc. and Glazer’s Beer & Beverage, and it is also near the San Antonio Food Bank.

An affiliate of the Miller family has reportedly offered to buy the city-owned property located at 5330 State Highway 151 which is situated at the northwest corner of Highway 151 and Enrique Barrera, Old Highway 90.

The property is part of 435 acres that the city acquired in a lawsuit settlement in 1999, later marketed as the Southwest Business and Technology Park. The potential Bill Miller portion is all that remains to be sold.

The planned campus is expected to span 335,000-square-foot building and will cost approximately $60 million.  Construction start date is expected early 2021 with completion anticipated by mid-2022.

Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, which operates restaurants across South and Central Texas, is based at its downtown commissary facility, which includes a sausage kitchen, bakery, laundry service and warehouse.
