New two-story H-E-B opens at 1601 Nogalitos

The transformation is complete.  H-E-B’s first multi-level store in Texas at 1601 Nogalitos St. is open, complete with the “travelator” – a slightly inclined escalator that uses a magnetic strip to lock specialized shopping carts in place.  The new 62,000-square foot store replaces the locally-based grocery chain’s oldest operating store (26,000 sf).

San Antonio’s manufacturing sector swells with addition of Maruchan’s noodles

Wal-Mart begins construction on South Side store

Construction crews recently broke ground on a 180,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter at the corner of Interstate 35 North and Palo Alto Road on the city’s South Side.  The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer expects to open the store in October and hire about 300 employees.
