Whataburger Buys 300 Concord Plaza for new HQ

It is difficult to know exactly how long or deep the recession will affect the San Antonio office market but it is reasonable to believe that the impact will be shorter and shallower here than in most places around the country.  This makes San Antonio a desirable place to do business.

Citing San A300-concord-plaza-drntonio’s affordable office costs, ample workforce and inland location away from the threat of damaging hurricanes, Whataburger Restaurants LP recently purchased 300 Concord Plaza. and plans to relocate its current Corpus Christi headquarters location.   The 141,000 square-foot building currently serves as the headquarters for petroleum refiner Tesoro Corp.

Whataburger’s decision to purchase 300 Concord Plaza reduces the impact that the market will feel when Tesoro vacates roughly 160,000 square feet in five other buildings later this summer upon the completion of their new 618,000 square-foot headquarters complex at Ridgewood Park situated on Redland Road just east of US 281 in the Far North Central sector.
