At the end of 2011,San Antonio’s housing market proved itself to be — in a word — stable.

The market is also “consistent,” “unwavering,” “firm,” and showing “permanence,” according to the year-end report by the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR).

“Total number of sales for the year remained unwavering,” states SABOR.  All told, there were 17,914 single-family sales in the greater San Antonio area over the course of 2011 — unchanged from 2010 sales.

Meanwhile, the average price of a home in the San Antonio MSA “remained consistent” — standing at $185,516 at year-end 2011, a figure that is also unchanged from 2010.
