In an effort to broaden its presence in San Antonio, Christus Santa Rosa Health System has struck a deal to purchase a pair of former Elite Care emergency medical centers — including one that previously had been shuttered.
One of the Elite Care facilities now part of Christus’ growing ambulatory network is near U.S. Highway 281 and Bitters Road in North Central San Antonio. The other facility is on Bandera Road on the city’s Northwest Side.
The Bitters facility had been closed for some time. The plan is to co-brand the site as Christus Santa Rosa Emergency Center and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Center. It will have nine patient rooms and provide adult and pediatric services. It is slated to reopen in May.
The Bandera Road facility has been closed as a result of the acquisition and is also expected to reopen in May — as The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Center — with 10 patient rooms, including one triage room.
