San Antonio’s oldest hospital system is moving to add more facilities in this region as it seeks to stay in front of the population growth in and around the nation’s seventh-largest city.
Christus Santa Rosa Health System, which expects to complete work on the $150 million transformation of its downtown campus into the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio by the end of the year, has five free-standing emergency medical centers and is adding two more through the acquisition of a pair of Elite Care facilities.
Christus Santa Rosa Health System, which is developing a new emergency medical center in Stone Oak, is already eyeing additional expansion in the region. It’s all part of a movement by Christus and other providers to bring health care closer to where people live.
