Power Center opening in Far West Side

80-acre development will feature 550,000 square feet of retail, including a long strip center and 14 pad sites

The Shops at Dove Creek is opening in a few months as the next power center on San Antonio’s Far West Side. This area has seen continued demand for big-box retail.

Portions of the land have been sold to users like KB Homes, Casey Development, and Flix Brewhouse LLC. Plans include a 170-unit subdivision behind the retail part of the development and an apartment complex.

The remaining 80 acres will include

550,000 square feet of retail with a long strip center and 14 pad sites. Over 80% has been preleased with future tenants like TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Michaels, PetSmart, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy and Ross.

According to Metrostudy Senior Regional Director Jack Inselmann, “The area west of Interstate Loop 410 and between Bandera Road and Texas Highway 90 has seen tremendous growth recently and is on pace for its third consecutive year of 3,500 single-family home starts.”

The Texas Department of Transportation is undertaking a massive expansion of West Loop 1604, which runs in front of the project. The Shops at Dove Creek is expected to open by mid-March 2019.
